Product: Handcrafted ceramics

Posted by rjc No Comments.

Seeing this post on the NotCot design blog got me thinking.

There is a certain beauty that goes into hand made products, does this really add more worth?  Can beauty really exist in a product that is mass produced in a stale environment.  Have a look at the video attached and see what you think?

Architecture: The future of city living

Posted by rjc No Comments.

An interesting item in the latest Icon magazine (Issue 116 Japan).  Have a look at the full article in the department, or in the school library.

Yes, that’s right it’s a house.  4 Stories and with a mere 8 x 4m plot!

Could you live in a house like this?  Is this the future of city living?

Students have been getting to grips with the use of CAD in a variety of areas of the curriculum.

See the recent work below completed by Robert Pownall (SHAI) whilst attending after school DT clubs.

How do you think he made it?

Architecture: Creative Spaces

Creative Spaces

Take a look at one of the latest posts from the cool hunter looking at Bangkok University.

The post explores using creativity in the design of spaces to inspire people to become creative themselves and enjoy their time at university.

What do you think?  Would you like to study at a University or school that looked like this? Is this what the future could look like or is it just too ‘out there’ for you?

And on a big picture scale, do we need to be in a creative space in order to be creative ourselves?

Check out the full link and post your thoughts below.
